Best Colleges for Men's Tennis

Many pro tennis players got their start playing college tennis. However, tennis can be a rewarding experience even for the student with no interest in playing professionally, allowing opportunities to travel, meet new people and experience a host of challenges that will prepare them for diverse careers.

Recruitment begins in early high school, making it important for student athletes to begin researching colleges while still in 8th or 9th grade. In addition to considering the quality of the tennis program, make sure you take into account academics, student life and other important aspects of college. Students may receive athletic scholarships if they are able to play DI or DII tennis. DIII teams cannot offer scholarships based on athletic ability, but all students are still eligible for financial aid based on need.
