Best Colleges for Women's Ice Hockey

Women's college hockey can be quite competitive, with recruitment sometimes starting in middle school. There are a limited number of colleges that offer women's hockey programs, meaning athletic scholarships may be difficult to achieve.

Women's Division I Ice Hockey is also known as National Collegiate. Division I teams are usually larger with bigger budgets and can offer more scholarships. Division III teams do not award athletic scholarships. There is no NCAA Division II championship in college hockey. Students should make it a priority to find a school that meets their academic needs as well as offer the kind of athletic opportunities they desire.
